72 Sportster cannot get primary cover to stop leaking/tried permatex/tried two gaskets/tried using bad language/nothing works/any ideas/could use some help/thanks/Joe
Doubling up the gasket isn’t good. Pull the cover back off. Scrape all the goop off. Clean the surface really good. Put a new gasket on, and torque the cover back on to the proper specs. Be sure to torque it down evenly and in sequence. If that doesn’t work, then it’s a good bet that your primary cover is warped.
