Mutant Buell Wiring Diagram

wiring diagramThis is the wiring diagram that I used to wire my Mutant, but it will work on pretty much any Harley evo engine as well. It’s pretty simple as you can see. Only 2 fuses and the spring-return ignition eliminates the need for a starter relay. Click on the image to view full size.

Buell 1125R

Buell 1125r Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ve no doubt heard about Eric Buell’s latest release for the 2008 model year, the 1125R. And if you’ve had a chance to check out the spec sheet you’ll know that unlike previous versions, the Sportster based engine has been replace by a fire-breathing 146HP @10,500 Rpm Rotax engine. Now I know there’s a lot of you purists out there are saying ….”But it aint a Harley”. Well, I was a little squeamish on that too but….146HP…10500 Rpm….F@#K around…. Mutant Buell first ride

Here’s a clip of the Redneck Mutant’s maiden voyage. She flashed right up with the first twist of the key. What a good investment that single-fire ignition was. The high-torque starter really helps too. It was running pretty nice. Had to adjust the clutch though. You can hear it slipping as I gave it some throttle.  Anyway it’s fixed. One thing I was pleasantly surprised with was how well it handles. Though it feels rock solid going down the road, yet it’s really responsive and easy to maneuver. Just don’t lean into the corners, and always approach speedbumps with extreme caution.
